Worthing Thunder – Community Session Booking Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings for community sessions delivered by Worthing Thunder (“the Club”, “we”, “our”, “us”).

By booking a session, you agree to the terms outlined below.


1. Booking & Payment

1.1 All sessions must be booked in advance via the Club’s official booking platform or approved booking partner.

1.2 Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.

1.3 A booking is not confirmed until payment has been successfully received.

1.4 Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

2.1 Participant Cancellation

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the session start date may receive a full refund (less any booking fees, where applicable).
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the session start date are non-refundable.
  • No refunds will be issued for non-attendance.

2.2 Club Cancellation

  • If the Club cancels a session due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. facility closure, insufficient numbers, staff illness), participants will be offered either:
  • A full refund, or
  • A transfer to an alternative session (subject to availability).

2.3 In exceptional circumstances (e.g. injury supported by medical evidence), the Club may offer a discretionary credit.


3. Transfers

3.1 Bookings may be transferable to another session date (subject to availability) if requested at least 72 hours prior to the session.

3.2 Transfers are not guaranteed and are at the Club’s discretion.

4. Medical Information & Participant Welfare

4.1 Parents/guardians must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or additional needs at the time of booking.

4.2 Participants attend at their own risk. While all reasonable precautions are taken, basketball is a physical sport and carries a risk of injury.

4.3 In the event of illness or injury, the Club reserves the right to seek appropriate medical treatment, including first aid or emergency services if required.

5. Safeguarding

5.1 All sessions are delivered in line with the Club’s safeguarding policy.

5.2 Coaches and staff working with junior participants are appropriately qualified and DBS checked.

5.3 Parents/guardians must ensure children are collected promptly at the end of each session.

6. Code of Conduct

6.1 All participants are expected to behave respectfully towards coaches, staff, facilities, and fellow participants.

6.2 Bullying, abusive language, disruptive behaviour, or unsafe conduct will not be tolerated.

6.3 The Club reserves the right to remove any participant from a session without refund if behaviour is deemed inappropriate or unsafe.

7. Photography & Media

7.1 From time to time, the Club may take photographs or videos during sessions for promotional purposes (e.g. website, social media).

7.2 Consent preferences will be collected during the booking process. Participants who opt out will not be intentionally featured.

8. Data Protection

8.1 Personal information provided during booking will be used solely for the administration of sessions and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

8.2 Information will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or for safeguarding purposes.

9. Liability

9.1 The Club accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to sessions.

9.2 Participation is voluntary and undertaken at the participant’s own risk.

10. Amendments

The Club reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will be available via the Club’s official communication channels.
